Wajuku Ihimbru is the main character who leaves his parents in the grass field to study in the University of Buea. While in Buea, he manages to get a room in the crazy neighborhood of Dirty South which has been nick named ''Sodom and Gomorra'' because of the promiscuous lives of students.Wajuku is very industrious and enterprising but suffers complexity problems. Though he is very handsome ,he finds a lot of faults in himself. He is so use to the type of life that he gets up every morning and his mom looks food for at all cost for him to eat but life tends out to be very different in the university. His mother was unable to send him food talk less of money. Because of this, Wajuku devised all sorts of methods to survive which he calls Survival Instincts. He was so use to the university restaurant where food is sold very cheap to the extent that other students called him the ''moving menu''. Brenda is also new in the university. She has gone through a lot of emotional problems. She explains to Wajuku that the biggest problem of any beautiful lady is to make the best choice of the many men coming and going in her life. Some guys come very handsome but with no money, others come with much money but are very ugly while some are not even handsome and not rich but yet show lot of love. Thus, she's always in a dilemma.Also get to discover in the thrilling story how Wajuku and some of his educated friends came back from school and break the myth and mysticism that characterized the village. The village had a river called the forbidden river and villagers were prohibited from swimming in the river since it was regarded as the home of the gods. It was also belief that the river at its lower end disappeared into thin air in the evil forest but the new generation of youths had to prove this wrong
